One of my darker writes, not sure where it came from, just sort of flowed on out...

A Darkness Looms over the Asylum…

Dark & foreboding was his mood,

Came on it did, after taking a lude,

Feel, he did, like his mind was glued,

To the back of his skull so crude…

Kindly and gentle a man, was he, without drugs,

Found himself, generally, in the mood for hugs,

Fearful of the world,

Frightened of pulls on his heart-strings, yes tugs,

Others seem to have found him quite too smug,

Little did they know, how little they did know…

On his bad days, he did kill,

Anyone & everyone who worked at the mill,

Burying them where they fell, but still,

The nicest guy he was, the world would say,

With a very strong will;

Just keep him away from those pills,

And never again would he kill,

Locked up today, in the asylum on the hill,

Passing out “keep you not crazy”, pills,

He has so many there, so many he is able to kill,

Yes, he has all he needs; he has his fill…

You really remind me of myself with this poem; the way it was written specifically. The only thing I would recommend is altering the rhythm of the poem to flow more easily. Read it aloud to yourself. This poem has great potential. I mean that. I love this.
