She knelt in front of the alter with a bowed head
Seeking forgiveness for the things that she did and said.
Not too much else had she ever done that was wrong or bad
But what she had done to him made her feel guilty and sad.

His eyes, when she had lashed out in anger, had widened and teared.
Now she was alone, feeling small and scared.
Her beliefs helped strengthen her and made her briefly forget
how his tears had come down so hard, salty and wet.

As she knelt at the front of the ancient church,
the door creaked open with a squeak and a lurch.
He stood there watching her as she knelt in her prayer
she didnít move, although she felt the weight of his stare.

After a long moment and after she had genuflected,
she turned and saw the love that his eyes reflected.
She knew forgiveness came from God and him, the important two,
and peace flowed within her as she forgave herself too.

Genuinely inspiring! I like the
part about the altar with a bowed head.
The picture is gorgeous too! I differ though,
because I believe that God and Jesus are the same,
not two people. Jesus is of a part of God. How can
he be different?
Something to think about. Great write though and Kudo's
to you for an excellent poem!
