On the day after her 16th birthday Jade Roberts was riding with her friend, Kevin Heiderman . They hit a school bus killing Jade instantly. Kevin is fighting for his life in ICU. Jade was a very popular student, involved in cheerleading , always a kind word to everyone, She was always making her friends laugh and just a joy to be around. She lived in Branford , Florida and went to Branford High School. She is survived by her parents, Donald and Shelia Roberts, a sister Kelly, and a brother Kevin, and a former boyfriend Matt Bius who dated Jade four years, and her many, many friends. She will be missed by everyone. A gentle heart just went to heaven.

Poem requested by Wil Clark

Mom and Dad don't cry for me
Some things are just meant to be
I haven't gone , I'm still with you
In the gentle wind and the morning dew
You'll see me in the rose you hold
You'll remember me in stories told

Kelly and Kevin, dry your tears
We had each other for sixteen years
When you feel the breeze in your hair
Think of me and I'll be there
Look up at the stars and you'll see
The one twinkling the brightest is me

Don't despair for I am not sad
I thank God for the life I've had
Family and friends I've cherished so
I love you all more than you know
Remember me as I lived each day
The gentle moments of yesterday

Tragedies always happen to those who seem least deserving of such a fate. A flower cut down in her prime. Lovely tribute Linda

this is a choker, Linda, as my own daughter has just celebrated her 18th birthday and has known dark days herself...how brave of you to articulate the hope that we share, that we "see through the mirror darkly" and that life is a great gift that is to be appreciated on a daily basis with an "attitude of gratitude": to be celebrated as such always and to be grieved and yet cherished when it has past. However, as you say, a belief in the greater continuum is everything and sometimes we just have to believe that we look down the wrong end of the telescope at life, which is, in spiritual terms, so much more enduring. My thoughts and prayers are with you, family and friends, in the assurance that "blessed are those who NEED to mourn for they SHALL be comforted"...let life's journey continue, for Jade's sake. With Love KB
