the downside of being different
Look at her walking down the street he sneers
To all of his gang. She’s dressed all in black,
Got short purple spiky hair, a chain from her
ear to her nose.
She walks around like she doesn’t care about
What the others say. That’s the way it should
be she says in her head. But she cant help
wondering if it’s a lie.
She reaches home, walks in only to be
Laughed at by her siblings, so she runs
Up the stairs, goes in her room shuts
The world out, lays on her bed and
Stares at the black walls.
The black is how she feels, such a
Dark place she is in. if only the others,

Don’t like yourself, everyone
Deserves to be themselves without
All this hurt. So next time you see
Someone different from you let
Them be who they are and let

|Gemma, you are not alone in this. Whenever you choose a different route in anything other than the normally travelled one by society;
they jump on you with all fours. Today, at 71 I am ridiculed. I am proud of my difference but I pay for them with derision still. But I am strong enough to spit in their face. Be yourself young Lady. Bill Murray
