When you look down at your child
Laying in a casket of blue
And your heart screams out in pain
Wishing so bad it was you
Knowing the angel laying there
So innocent and free from all sin
The agony of tears you cry
Will never bring her home again

Crouched in a corner all alone
Scared of footsteps on the stair
Knowing if you open your eyes
The terror of your dreams will be there
A scared little child laying cold
And crying on the floor
His nightmare never goes away
As he see's his Dad at the door

Just one more drink and I will stop
Just another touch of red wine
You can't take it from me, friend
This is the only thing that's mine
My demons torture me
Swimming in the bottom of my glass
As it burns it's way down
I wonder who will have the last laugh

Smelling the stench of bodies
And the ever constant sounds of war
Wondering if your wife and kids
Will understand what you died for
He's fading away as he knows
He's lost what's left of the race
Her photograph falls to the ground
As his life's blood covers her face

Yes, life can be horrible. Look at the poor victims of genocide in Africa and now in central Europe as well. That's why I have my website dedicated to the victims of genocide. Have you read my poem, "Death Stalks Across Africa(2)"?

hello Linda, nightmares can be a force to reckon with. But they are only dreams, control when you wake up, this is the only thing we can do with the boo. Also thinking strong and positive helps change nightmares to dreams of better. love and luck. G
