Small Spirit

A little girl dances
in an empty room,
eyes filled with memory
and tears half-shed.
She's not perfect,
but she's special.
A halo hangs,
slightly blistered,
against her head.
The sky weaps
because she's not happy,
but all she hears is music
beating time out like a dream.
She tries to rise above;
she sinks back down on broken wings.

Im going to save this in my heart for me (the little girl inside) and for my daughter who's halo is not as tarnished as mine

this was incredible... it touched me in so many ways

painfully beautiful. It feels like a secret being told...
