Fairy Tale

The secret goes,
they say,
you gave you heart away
for roses
and pretty things.
What nonsense.
That was just a dream.
Your fairy tale upended itself
somewhere painfully close
to completion.
So I guess the moral
of our story
goes like this;
there is always a once upon a time,
there just arent any happy endings.

Thing is, that "once upon a time" if not a happy ending, is with the wrong person. You can't force affection. It is, or isn't. Sad write.
