Circum-navigating, In My Minds Eye…(part VII)
A quaint little harbor did Rufuz and I anchor,
Sailboats and tiny fishing craft, no cruise ships, no tankers,
Clean was the water, could see to the bottom,
Fish exploring the reefs, dolphins, sharks & barracuda, I’ve got no hanker,
To go swimming in there with those meat eaters,
I will use the raft to access shore; Rufuz wanting to go with me for sure,
Some places they do not allow, pets from other countries, but here they don’t care…
After sailing in the open sea for so long,
Will take us a few minutes for our land legs to return,
We have not seen another soul for several weeks,
Keeping busy on the boat, we discovered no apparent leaks…
She, the Rene’ Lyn, took to the sea like Rufuz does to a bitch,
With all due haste and an ability hard to believe,
She tried so hard to be the best boat; she accomplished her task,
Felt like an old worn out, but comfortable coat,
Put it on and remember the good times, feel the fear slip away,
We are both finally here, at this island of peace; here we may stay,
For a short time, enough to restock, refuel, and sleep, not far from here will we stray…
We want to relax, lay out on the deck in the sun, soaking up the suns rays,
This we will do, awaiting Rene’s return, she is on her way,
To this island of sun, this place of beauty and of great fun,
Together we will explore, this new island, yes we will run,
All over it, on our bikes we will implore, the weather god to keep it nice,
Airing out our bedding, our clothes, our waterlogged souls,
Till again we get that itch to move on,
To another shore when this place does become a bit of a bore…
