not as a spiral
nor an energy vortex
it felt like a rip tide
swimming against

couldnít swim through it
would just pull me down
no way to fight it
because iíll just drown

better to paddle, away from its flow
take a parallel current, along the shore

mortality how gothic
so film noir
haunted by shadows
they cry in the dark

life imitates art
its sadness seeps through
what they donít see
I know that you do

feeling your heart, comforting to me
always so bright, always with love

I thank you, from all my heart
keeping me thinking, of happy thoughts
