we all need our 'masks', I think-- as any 'Actress'.... you know?


she glows, gives, breathes, shines,
sings arias of laughter.

she fades, retreats, gasps, dims,
silent as unshed tears.

there, she is everyone,
each and all, anyone;
enchanting, embracing
all light.

here, she is no one,
less and less anyone,
clutching her curtain;

one's entranced with this presence so bright!
"Isn't she smashing?" (Bravas! all round)

she's entranced and cannot find her light.
Oh, yes, she is smashing... to bits.

I think we are all actors and actresses looking for a place to be welcome appreciated and loved. Beautiful writing from a lovely angel. Not smashing to bits, but rather rising above it all at last.

I have known a number of these "actresses," both in
show biz, and off the road. You hit the nail on the
