On Prayer

Don't tell me
You never pray.
We all look up--
Beyond--Out there--
To somewhere else
When all here goes dark.
We all are vulnerable ever
And weak as melting snow
When life grinds us
In its maw.
No one is exempt
And God is our last straw.

Undated

Desperation has definitely been a motivator for many a prayer.
