sitting at the counter,
we were unsure if we should
ask the sushi chefs
or wait until the
server came by,
starving,
they brought a tray
along with tea,
hot soup,
to take the edge off
of a southie evening
starving and cold
nearly nothing brought
comfort like the thought
of rings, our tattoo appointments
this saturday, vintage bike lamps,
and newbury comics
purging money we didn't have
to spend
on 7 and 10 inch vinal recordings
i am so ready for this, i thought
so ready for this, i said.

You make it sound so perfect. I'd be a liar if I said I didn't envy. Great poem.
