Earth's belly rumbles, the ground's split in two
Heavens are dark, where once they were blue
The air holds a chill, that you feel to the bone
You sweat like the damned, in the devils' own home

You're falling thru darkness and never touch ground
Screaming and cry without sound
Grasp for the life, that once was your air
Spirit thats stripped.....cold, naked, and bare

Pain is the lesson, thats written in blood
Oceans of sorrow wash over and flood
Wishing for blindness.....stare straight in the sun
Maimed by the ending......before it's begun

How could this happen..........there's no control
Pity the meek, that trust and grow bold
Lament for the heart that CANNOT condemn
For self preservation.....lock it up in a pen

Mangle the lock, and melt down the key
Down darkest of hot molten sea
Take time to heal, grow strong, true and mend
Take a deep breath..........and see what time sends

Lady A

Strong and powerful, like you my friend. It's strange because I was heading to your den before I saw that you had read my new one. We must be spiritually tied. This is the best poem that I have read all night.

An absolutely breathtaking write, Lady A! A copy should adorn all our bathroom walls for when we get out of bed a heap in the morning - ESPECIALLY that last stanza which is quite brilliant and I think could easily stand on its own as a wise maxim of life. Marvellous! KB
