Sand Castles

Tanned little bodies,
playing in the sand,
making castles & walls,
for those that crawl...

Sand Castle’s…

Land based homes for creatures of the beach,

Grandly built by children, at their reach,

Stand the test of time, till the ocean does reclaim,

Planned by future architects, there is no blame…

Tanned from the neck to the toe, are these builders of sand,

Spanned bridges of sticks and beach grass in addition,

Demand for dikes to halt oceans flow, a futile plan,

Understand, Mother Ocean does reclaim every day, what she gives man…

Grande are the castles built of sand, in the eyes of the kids, although unplanned,

Little hands do demand these castles be built,

Expand, as they will the size right up to the hilt…

No hassle given to build a sand castle,

No land agreement needed from Mother Nature or ocean,

Just the fun of the build, the many ornaments found on the beach,

Old toys forgotten by past castle builders, the ocean herein does teach,

Don’t build your home too close to the ocean, for returned to the sea,

Mother Ocean does take, to come back the next day and start all over again…

Beautiful, Ed--we should all take a few to sit back and observe. The sand castles of time are washed away, but we have our memories to keep. Nature is amazing, and you have a wonderful talent of putting her into words. Keep on keeping on . . . b
