Believer

Love is for believers.
Itís only for dream weavers.
Itís not for those afraid of letting go.
Though many will have feeling
It wonít be as revealing,
True love is something most will never know.

And those who do will show it,
Thatís part of why we know it-
The drive to always give our love and care.
And mostly we will waste it
On those who barely taste it,
Consuming without knowing it is there.

We wonder why weíre trying,
When hope it seems is dying.
But loveís a seed we know in time will sprout.
For hope will keep on going,
A dream inside still glowing,
As faith is part of what love is about.

And soon enough I found you,
To wrap my love around you-
No difference in who gives and who receives.
At last our search has ended,
A hope that died ascended.
We finally found another who believes.

Oh John, do I love your poem's first three lines, especially, they set the stage for the entire poem!

"Love is for believers.
Itís only for dream weavers.
Itís not for those afraid of letting go."

How romantic and powerful!

Excellent. Your poetry has such an awesome mix of deep meaning and approachability. Happy Easter to you, John.

This is quite beautiful in it's rhythm and construction, John - to say nothing of its sentiments! A real swoon! "For love is as strong as death and as unyielding as the grave". Ssuch truth that love is faith-driven: faith that love will find its true object! "It's not for those afraid of letting go" - such truth here and a stumbling block to the giving and receiving of love for many. Thank you for this. Resurrection blessings, grace and peace be yours, today and always. KB
