Packing My Husbands things after death

Forget Me Not

I cried a tear
or two today
while I packed
your things away.
I carefully placed
each piece in a box
as not to break
forget me nots.
Pictures we took
memories we made
side by side
together they laid.
I stood there for
a minute or two
gently whispered
"I love you."
Then I placed the lid
on the box
as I promised
to forget you not.

Oh my, what a wimp this has brought tears to my eyes, so heart rending...Good luck, and you will never forget, for the first time in my life I understand the words better to have loved and lost than not have loved at all..take care....x

Oh Rene..How I relate to this...
I can feel your sorrow...it is so very
difficult...I still have my sons jacket,
shoes, pants, shirt, etc that he had on
when the ambulance took him away...they
are still hanging in my closet...I just
can't seem to do something with them...
it's as if I am afraid to let go...this
is wonderful writing from your heart...
I hope that writing helps you heal...it does
help but the pain never goes away...bless you..
