God vs. Allah

Why do I have to write something like this, shouldn't we as a people be, by now, living in peaceful co-habitation with each other...? I am at a loss to explain it...

God vs. Allah…

As a Buddhist I have to admit,

I know very little about all this shit,

But from my point of view,

I see very little difference with regards most of it…

God & Allah, both omnipotent, both existing for some but not all,

Neither have taken nor will they ever take a big fall,

From grace if you will, or from the love of their minions,

There is only one thing different I see from my own observations,

Many do listen, and many do make, just as I do, these opinions…

I don’t portend to tell the world how to think, believe or what faith to worship,

But from what I see, I can tell there are zealots in all religions, all beliefs, man, what a trip,

The believers in Allah, while being for the most part, like the believers in God,

Do for their supreme being go out and kill and be killed sometimes in death squads…

Is that the way of a true believer in the Muslim faith; that worships Allah?

I cannot believe nor can I truly understand the why’s and where for’s regards this practice,

Why does one have to die, to truly make his “supreme being” realize he is worthy?

Is it not enough to do good deeds, to be as close to that beings perfection here on earth?

Why must killing be the only way, why must we as a people of this planet,

Treat life with such ill-regard, children carrying bombs, to show how they feel towards Saddam,

Would it not be better to have those same children carrying psalms, & just loving their moms…?

Is there anymore to be said, God versus Allah, which one will win, who cares, neither,

As far as this writer is concerned, so let me herein take a long breather…

Ed,
Allah is not just another god. The word "Al-lah" in Arabic translated to English means "the-God" "Al" being "the". Arabic Bibles use "Allah" as there is no other word in Arabic for God. Talk to any Christian Arab and he will tell you his Creator is Allah.
Now, anyone can adopt anything as their "god": money, power, saints, prophets, etc. There are those who worship the "sun" and the "fire" and these become their "gods". There are even those who worship Satan, so he becomes their "god". In the english langugage the word "god" can be tempered with virtually by anyone: god, gods, goddess, goddesses, godfather, godmother, etc.
Now, the god of Islam is the Only True God. Islam is not a new religon that started 1400 years ago. Muslims believe in all the prophets of our Lord and love them all equally and are never offensive to anyone of them. They also believe in all the untainted scriptures that came by way of these prophets. We might disagree on the way some people worship God, but you will never catch a true Muslim badmouthing any prophet of Allah, the Supreme Creator of all.
We believe that this Universe has a Creator and everyone in this vast Universe is created by this One Maker. And this One God (Allah) is not the father of anyone but is the Lord and Creator of all.

With regards to what's happening in the world today, I think Injustice is the mother of all the troubles that we are seeing today. When people make it their business to sow hatred and suppress other humans, well, we just have to expect some reactions. Not all Muslims agree with the way things are developing. What we are seeing is just a reaction, serious as it is, it is a reaction to series of events. I live in the Middle East and most of it is peaceful. The trouble spots we see on TV, Palestine and Iraq are man-made.

Allah and the religon of Islam are not responsible for them. I hope that answered some of the questions raised in your poem.
