This poem was written for a friend who lost her only son. I wrote this poem because I could see her pain in her eyes even though she didn't speak of how broken her heart felt inside. |

"A Tearful Good-bye To My Only Son"
Heaven called my son's name and, He closed his eyes in death. But in the distant shadows of darkness, I know he saw me as I wept.
How do a mother say, "Good-bye," to her only, Son? What words she use to say, for such a, Tearful and sorrowful, "Good-bye?" In words, Her heart spoke as she cried and prayed.
My heart now forever burden with grief, my son. I know you can feel my heavy heart as it tries to speak. On that day you left me, forever restrained within, A broken-heart of grief.
Those were the only words to use as her broken heart, Spoke while she wept.
