The sun has set
The colors of the spectrum
Are giving way
The approaching dusk
Soon it will be night
The snow is white
It outlines
The branches
Of the bare winter trees
Cold below freezing
Dropping minus zero
Dress warm they say
Take heed
As the snow rabbit
Hides in the weeds
Listen to the cry
Of the owl, hunting it's prey
Descending from it's perch
Searching, gliding
For shadows lurking
In the snowy grass
Listen to the wounded cries
Of it's prey
Then silence portrays
In your imagination.
