The Fact of the Matter

He was ugly as could be,
so he turned his virgin chastity
into a beauteous thing
for which one can't be blamed.
And scorning all the lovely names
who dove into their lakes of flames
to quench a burning passion
and making it alright by fashion
~ they the enemy
of Mr. Religious Self-Righteous Plea.
Repent! he'd say
and find the way!
But beauties seemed most deaf
for just as he would seem to be
correct, was Romeo panting left
and burning still,
for beauty will
its satisfaction know,
The heart
once shown
convinced to part
again would find its own.
