Her friends,

Don't know her secret

She hides the scars well,

With words that come easy,

But carry little meaning

With false airs

And false pretenses.

Pretending everything is okay

When really the words are weapon

The names he calls her

Revurbirate in her head,

A piece of her torn.

With each insult,

She finds her self image,

Stripped away.

This poem hit home; years later I still live with the pain from all the emotional and mental abuse I endured. Words DO hurt!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx, Karen Lynn. :( >tears <

Reverberate. The word is beautiful, its affects are not... The pain of her disappearing is felt.

Michelle? I have a friend who's story you might, empathic to, her name is Jenn. She is the first link on my bio, I wrote 'Black Bird...Fly' for her. She changed my mental life, added bitter hate to my thoughts and embraced my attempts to give her back the parts of her that were ripped away. It is a frightening story, as are all stories of those who've been abused and tortured by the dregs of humanity.
