He Slept

By the way, this is not about my husband :)

He slept all night
and slept all day,
while preachers taught,
"the man must be the head."
And yet, he was in every man
as though, eyes open
man were walking dead.
I finally
grew faith to see
that I had been taught
all and full
a lie.
I cried a bit,
but then I loved,
and don't trust him
to be the earth and sky.
