Not sure this is philosophy, but it is close...

Truth Be Told…

Secrets do not exist,

Specifically in the realm where we do persist,

All is known, family secrets, childhood secrets,

Preferences, references, off shore accounts,

Lies, lessons learned, then forgotten,

Who we have loved, whom we love now,

Past tricks, memories, thought to be only ours,

Yes, all this and more, known by each of us,

Through all of the time we have been alive, yes all the hours…

We are all essentially the same,

Except of course for the differences in our names,

Oh no, you cannot be right, you say of a truth I cannot claim,

But little do you know, yes and again, we are all the same…

We each have had our share of secrets told,

To our parents when we were not very old,

To our spouses when we did get enough courage, being bold,

To our friends, did they keep that secret, if not, we would have scold,

But did we keep the same, or was that secret we had sold?

We all speak of being secretive; never do we violate a confidence,

We all have, regarding same, self-assurance,

But in reality, nothing is secret; sooner or later it will be blurted out,

We may give our oath, but there are no oaths, not even as a scout…

Ed, true there are no real secrets. Sooner or later, they will be found out. Big Brother is watching, but often they're stretched and distorted, and sometimes they aren't really the truth. Best to ignore and not to bother with them, for they often are only gossip.

Love & peace, Patty

I'm drawn to a commonality with people, I celebrate the differences. Secrets are many, and sometimes they are told when you look into the eyes. My word is my highest value.. Ed.. I do believe you've penned yourself a bona-fide thought provoker here. Good on ya! katy xox.

Hi Ed...I always do my best to keep secrets and
to keep my word...if my memory fails I may say
something that I meant not to..but that is seldom..
we all have secrets of one type or another...having
a great solid friend that we can rely on to talk to
is most important...again you made me think...Now I have
to go read the one about sons...I saw it yesterday
but my phone kept ringing...I could never reply...
