Your words lay upon my heart

 as freshly risen mornings dew.

You enchant me with your rhymes,

but I must ask who are you?

For I see your joy

And  feel the passing of your pain,

I watch from a follower’s distance,

 daring not to gain.

I look for you with eagerness

and long to contemplate your day,

I wait in muted silence

and trace the line that points your way.

Yet still to myself,

 this question I ask…

who are you?

Who are you,

that makes the world shine?

Who are you,

That captivates my mind?

Oh yes…maker of rhymes,

Who are you?
