“Democracy is the echo of the freedom”
-Bhuwan Thapaliya

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can
only be free
if your nation is free
and no nation
can be free
without the democracy.

Freedom
cannot endure
without the
democracy,
nor democracy
without the freedom.

Freedom
is the offshoot
of democracy
and democracy
is the motif
of freedom.

And, it is better
to be the
poor servant
of the democracy
than the rich master
of the tyranny.

Because…

In the democratic
system only
we can churn
the holy nectar
of the perpetual
freedom.

In the democratic
system only
we can transfer
the freedom
from one generation
to another.

Lately, Bhuwan, many poets have been writing about these things... I have not, however, read it until now, with such a feeling of hope and truth.. you have an evocative and very thoughtful pen. Every inch of my skin has goosebumps... I'm an optimist by nature, and you have 'contacted' my deepest thoughts here. Wonderful poetry... ! katy xox. p.s. I entirely agree with Mountain Poet's remarks below!

So true. The real heroes are those willing to fight for it. The ability to dissent is a gift. Well said.

The last two stanzas are the most true. And also the most beautiful. Never have I heard democracy described so perfectly.

"It is better to be the poor servant of the democracy than the rich master of the tyranny": these are wonderful sentiments, Bhuwan. Your rich words speak like an oracle - I love your quote about the nature of poetry on your bio page especially! Whatever side of the political spectrum you fall on, it is whether you desire to master or serve that makes the difference to the people; perhaps all great leaders know what it is to serve, rather than to be served. Thank you for this. KB
