Fire is my agent
Air my element
Earth is my burial ground
and Water is my grave

I am incense -
my life is fragrance
and a prayer

In solid form
I am Topaz, Golden Corundum:
resinous, translucent,
fluoriferous

But put me to the flame
and my essential essence
is unlocked;

I am gently curling strands,
the perfumed smoke which rises
from the newly snuffed-out wick
and the scent of molten liquid wax...

Touch me now
and I shall become
as that absorbing second skin
that wraps you round

* * * *

Burn me, then,
and I am released
Crush me and I am spent

Look for me later
and I will be gone,
leaving only
airless space,
a vacuum

And the knowledge of
something missing
in your life

And I Cupid with my little arrows, and I will use just one to strike the center of your heart, and capture all the brilliant facets of your being; placing them in the most beautiful rainbow ever known by man or the Gods. This is a wonderful poem that outshines the stars. And the rainbow created by Cupid will guide me on my journey to the Heavens; where you reside, and I will sit at your feet on a cloud and listen while you recite words of love and hope and beauty; enchanting me forever.
P.S. Your words are what dreams are made of. Bill

Wow!
If the person this is directed to, had nothing but a beautiful
tribute like this one, they would have definitely felt "something
missing," when you were gone.
