I dropped my daughter off at school, this morning.
Had to wait while the bus unloaded the high-school kids.
I watched them pass in front of me, so casually, so naïve.
And I was filled with such an ache
I almost burst into tears.
Age, viewing youth…
With envy, longing, wonder, jealously,
appreciation, and pain.
It’s that sort of day, today.
And will be every day after.
