Been to this cememtery in Paris twice to visit my idol, Oscar Wilde, and both times were great experiences. Also like to pay a visit to Mr. Chopin when I am there as well;)

Chopin and Irises
and long, long ago-
I remember the street,
but forget the day.

Wilde and Roses
and outcast mourners-
I carried my tears,
in a garden to you.

Chopin and Irises
and beauty in stone-
hear death's brief song,
falling from your fingers.

Wilde and Roses
and pity's long broken urn-
what blood falls from the nightingale,
onto white, white roses.

I do hope you were not living above your means, Paris is expensive.
This is an evocative little poem.
I notice you gave jim Morrison a miss. But the Denis Leary said it all, "fad dead guy in a bath."

This is so beautifully evocative, Michelle, and paints so many images and ideas that connect you to these great men - and to the mystical experience of visiting their burial place. Very powerful, yet delicate write at the same time. And very lyric and musical... quite neat, in fact...Thank you! Kate
