The Broken Angel Rises

Heart of black but eyes of white
Mind so heavy but voice so light
The broken angel rises every day upon the dawn
A voice? A cry?
A scream for help?
The broken angel rises
Tries to fly, cannot
Wings once so majestic, now cracked and torn
The angel shall not fly again
The voice, again, a person in pain
She turns her head
Hair so perfect, now matted and burnt
She looks, seeks, finds
Walks to the edge
Prays for guidance, shuts her eyes
Jumps
The broken angel flies, she flies
She flies
Then as it was done, it is finished
Her time is over
One small smile, a nod of the head
And the broken angel falls
She falls, she falls
And it is over
She hits the earth, rises, falls
Falls
The broken angel shall rise no more

Velhma!
