Life carries on,
As I sit here and type,
On the keyboard,
In front of this machine,
As inspiration may never come,
The sun shines outside,
Joyous laughter is heard,
From the playing children,
I wonder what may come,
Maybe an idea or two,
Sans the artistic talent,
That I thought existed,
Within my very own self,
Vainly sitting here,
By the great book-shelf.

sometimes we ask too much of ourselves
A masterpiece that every sitting
the great novel before breakfast

We're writers, all we need do is write
masterpieces will follow .

this is a fine poem
dealing with the problem

once in a while every poet lack the inspiration in their life but that will be the testing time in which great words will pile up only to burst out days later!:)
Good luck!
