This is an extremely marvellous poem especially for those like me, who live in arid and semi-arid lands where Rain is always a new hope to survive. Even poets in the desert can not describe rain and its soothing effects the way you did it. Thank you Susan. I shall save this one.

this was everything it set out to, comfort through and through ... we've had sooooooooooo much rain lately, but I'm always surprised by the many forms it can take, including comforting as you have so well described. The other day I was sick in bed with bronchitis, after days and days of fighting it upright, and slept fitfully, on and off, but each time I woke there was this lovely, calming steady downpour. It, more then the sleep, made me feel like I might be getting better. Really enjoyed this. Thank you.

Ooh, you penned a soothing one here, Susan. I don't know of anyone who will not admit that he/she likes the rain. Well! There is our staring point, the, for world peace in our time. If everyone likes the sound of raindrops falling it should be easy to get the world leaders together in some sixties' communal throwback and sit there, listen to the rain, and work out their problems in a nice ans slow and tempered way. Just a thought. The bayou is fine thgese days, as a matter of fact it is raining as we speak.
