Dedicated to the memory of those that lost their lives and to the families that go on from September 11, 2001

Through the smoke
and into the fire
He answered the call
that went out on the wire

A plane has hit
Dear God theres another
He went to the aide
of your sister your mother

His face blackened
but determined as steel
He entered a war zone
that to us was surreal

He climbed the stairs
as you descended
How many did he save
before his life ended?

His unselfish duty
was to save a life
Someones daughter
son or wife

Out of the rubble and ash
came a giant among men
Carrying a helmet
with the number of a friend

He walked back in
to the inferno of hell
Beams screeching
as the towers fell

Under the steel
concrete and glass
Is the silent grave
of a people enmasse

Many a hero lives
or died that day
As some found
or lost their way

Chopping through the steel
with an ax
Heros stand stronger
in the midst of attacks

People who lose their lives in order to save others are true heroes. Excellent tribute, Brenda!

Brenda, I just can't imagine what those people went through that day...not only physically but mentally as well. There were just so few that made it out.
This awesome tribute gave me chills..just like the ones I had for months after that day.
Thank You Brenda. Lisa
