Itís 2AM but I canít sleep, thereís too much in my head,
But suddenly a soothing sound, thereís something on my bed.
I feel it walking towards me, then a soft paw on my chin,
A pause from all my troubles and she even brings a grin.
Itís 2AM but this is precious, maybe Molly knew
That I could use some company, and maybe she could too.
My heavy heart is lifted, no more worries, no more fears.
Itís 2AM but Iíll take time to scratch behind her ears.
The purring is so loud and soothing, filling up the room
So I forget the last few hours of lying there in gloom.
She may have only wanted the massage she gets from me,
But gloom has turned to happiness and thatís how it should be.
Itís 2:15, Iím drifting off, but now the love I wear
Has given me such comfort as she gently kneads my hair.
The sleep will come at last to me, I owe her that because
My Molly kitty came to me and taught me how to pause.

I have a cat for about 7 years now.. her name is purrs.. She sleeps at the end of my bed most nights but she somehow knows when I need that extra attention..lol.. On those nights she curls up on my chest and purrs me to sleep.
Thank you for your encouragement on my last poem.. You are a good friend!!

|My friend, what a precious kitty...and to come to you during your time of need and sadness. I hope all is still well with you. Let me know how you are.

|Oh, it so true that cats can change our mood - and so quickly too. I had to laugh; mine kneads the blanket on my bed in the Winter and likes to lick my hair or my skin, if I have worn fragrance.
I love this write! (Great rhythm) And Molly's picture belongs on the next Friskies calendar, she's soooo sweet!

|Such a sweet poem John, and that is the best cat
picture I've ever seen. Is it yours? I want one;-)
We have to take our moments of gladness from
wherever they come, you did that well John!
