I am loving my daily walks:) |
|
Shelter-
squirrel in snow,
huddle within the walls
of the trees,
scurry for nuts
and leaves
to crown your Queen
and feed your young,
until spring trots along,
wearing ruby slippers
and a full yellow dress.
Contact-
reach the other side,
where brown rabbits
peer over the weeds,
their lean bodies move
with the sway of the trees,
tricking the humans
with their sly sweetness.
Disappear-
the hole in the ground
is your castle of dirt,
tiny body popping into
Mother Earth,
making sounds of small
and rodent and alive,
crawling past these
intruding feet,
the giant
disrupters.
Breathe-
there is better air here-
How do they stay,
trapped in metal and steel?
How do they stay,
trapped with people unreal?
Exhale-
head in the clouds
and sunsets of
nature's delights.

| Michelle, this is a great visual journey through the trails of the forgiving forest that we humans continue to infringe upon. Please give Andy my best, and do tell him get his head out of the clouds…lol. No seriously, just give him a few more nuts so we can get him back here pronto. Outstanding write, Poet. |

Wonderful tribute to nature and seasons.
But don't talk about snow yet please, we are still in the middle of the summer. It will come again soon anyways.
If you do that regularly, going for walks, I envy you. Would love so as well, but always lacking the time.
Beautiful write. Enjoyed this one. |
