Good Morning Everyone.

This poem is from my new poetry book "Colour My World Wonderful" which is due to be released next week.

Hope you enjoy it, Trish.

Travelling uncaring down a backwoods country road
Winding around gently sweeping s curves
Touring quietly enjoying the swiftly
Changing scenery of evergreens
And blooming flowers dotting
The majestic landscape.

Lost along the way, going backward, and then turning
Only to find you must travel back the way youve
Come to arrive at your unexpected destination
High upon a crested plateau sits a hidden
Paradise tucked neatly behind a ramble
Down block farm house and barn.

Parking the car in the circular driveway and exiting
Onto a gravelled walkway that twists and turns
Entering sheltered areas with large flowing
Waterfalls dumping gallons of purified
Waters into turbulent bubbling ponds
Filled with exotic waterplants.

Around another corner, a hot house bursting forth
With massive hostas, variegated and plain,
Standing tall, towering over my small
Frame shooting flowers skyward
In every colour of the rainbow
Beckoning you to explore.

Ablaze in a fury of saturated colours, flowers tucked
Neatly into each nook and cranny as you make
Your way around the neatly compacted
Acres investigating a wealth of secret
Hidden treasure neatly placed to
Welcome you further along.

Under the dark green canopy of tented plastic and silky
Rayon is a world once known only to the under
Water swimmer as rows and rows of carp,
Multicoloured, join their distant cousin,
The koi who playfully splash about
In their bog filtered waterbeds.

Shopping, shopping, shopping, now my car looks like
A water garden loaded with fish and plants destin
For a new home, while moving with slow careful
Precision to avoid deep craterous pot holes
That pop up suddenly, spraying chilly
Water in the humidity of day.

Release, freedom from a plastic bag to swim effortlessly
Down, down, down, to the three foot depth of
Their new freshly filtered world, while I
Burst a seam in the heat of the day
Planting and watering the many
Plants brought home on the
hottest day of this year.

Dear Trish,

So beautifully descriptive, I too was making my way through your write, totally immersed,
"Parking the car in the circular driveway and exiting
Onto a gravelled walkway that twists and turns" < < <---hearing the crunch of the gravel.
Exquisite write Trish, thanks for sharing this beauty.

May your book "Colour My World Wonderful" flourish, boundlessly :)

Warm hugs
