ah, TRASK, if those millions of dollars spent frivolously on pre-election conventions and advertising were put to work instead to the benefit of our country...if common sense ruled...if megalomaniacs were recognized for their illnesses...if we could turn back the clock and prevent the madness...but we can't, and you speak out and a good many begin to realize we're in a hot stew...change will come, one way or another

| We have so many unemployed, but these jobs are not available or wanted if they pay below minimum wage with no benefits. Starving might be better. At least that's noble. |

I always enjoy your take on the issues... though several of your questions have very little to do with the Bush administration...
Steel was imported to ease tariffs on our goods in other markets... right or wrong, that's one of the main reasons.
Oil was imported because it was cheap to start and now because the extreme environmentalist cries every time we speak of developing a new domestic reserve.
Jobs to Mexico... can we all spell NAFTA... Jobs to India... partly due to cheap labor, but this problem cannot be limited to any single administration...
We import goods to help our exports and to play the foreign affairs game... Some do not view these issuess as problems, others do. I think they have been problems for decades.
Foreign policy has a lot to do with all of these questions. Unfortunately, we are not isolated in the world. The world wants our $$$ and our military protection, but for us to keep our mouths shut about everything else…
