More trees and moons, two of my most favorite things in the world. I feel alive this time of the year:)

tasting oranges
and tender lemons
Pucker, sweet cherry-
fall to the ground,
new leather shoes
cross your crunchy backs.

You are in a
child's hair
and the new moon's eye
Halloween Moon
with a coral smile,
Is that a glowing
hat you wear tonight?
I think you left
your diamonds
in your sky,
sparkling beside you.

Fall to the ground
look up to blue skies
greet the new day
Smell the arrival
of new seasons
Edges curling around you
Leaf beds and
sleepy heavy heads
bow to you,
Tree of Life,
Tree of Light.

Indian summer turning to Autumn's warm, sunny days and crisp breezes, isn't it a magical time? You have expressed it eloquently here, Michelle. Thank you

I'm still not ready for autumn yet, but I have to agree: That season is touching your heart with all its sences.

The transition from summer into fall is the gentlest and the quietest, yet it's the one that splashes color, almost instantly. I loved the poem, Michelle, but my goosebumps, the feeling of kinship began in your preface. I share your feeling of "alive" just now.

Note: I have my own personal 'weathervane' (smile) Every year I know when it's truly fall, because out of nowhere I have this overwhelming need to bake with apples! (grin) My loved ones begin to 'baton down the hatches' when they smell apple crisp in my kitchen. (Many of them run! I'm not much of a baker.. giggle). Ah, well... I love the process. hehe... thanks for honoring this, the most beautiful season. katy xox.

Dear Michelle,

I don't think there are too many people who don't enjoy Autumn, this is so beautifully penned and alive with vibrant imagery. Great poetry.
