Keep Florida and its inhabitants in your prayers, seems they will need all they can get...

A Study of Opposites…

Oh Mother Nature can be fickle,

In the north, the weekend is more than nice,

Cool and clear, air clean, ocean pure,

But Florida and the south is in a pickle,

Storm clouds hanging, hurricane lumbering,

Not the time of year for a sunny tour, for sure…

All do wish the Floridians well,

For the homes in which they do dwell,

Torn from their roots, to them say farewell,

Fear running rampant, some made their choice,

Stay and ride out the storm, bad idea now,

Next time this they will not allow, or so they now do vow…

No power as great, out of the ocean she comes,

Mans world, with its great technology, does lay down and succumb,

Expensive and expansive neighborhoods, with homes laden in gold,

Thought to be indestructible, thought to be too far off the beach,

Now lay in ruin, expensive as they were, still now looking as a slum…

Dear Ed, my favorite, beloved Aunt Dody, is in Florida, where this is going on... you can be sure I'm praying. Thank you, dear heart, for reminding us to step outside our comfy, calm places and be aware of fellow humans who are in the eye of the storm. You are a poet of compassion. katy xox.
