Vagabond

For Uncle Tommy...

Vagabond with the twined ponytail.
He never felt like he really belonged anywhere.
Place just didn't feel right enough to stay...
For the Vagabond,
Happiness was found on the end of a paintbrush,
Or in the strings of an old guitar.

Travelling from city to city.
Vanishing from view to those who loved him most.
But no measure of time or space can wipe away the past or the memories that surround him.

To us, that's where the Vagabond is kept alive.
That is where he is safe.
Even from himself...

Vagabond, where are you going now?
What is your next move?
You keep us wondering, like you.

Are you drifting away?
Or just going home...

Mariah,
Some never find themselves and are born to wander but that doesn't make them less special in our hearts.
