Young & Golden

In my younger days

life was golden

The sun was bright

in the olden

days of summer

I was younger

yet now older

life is still golden

These days of our lives,

These days of joy and strife

Time stands still

The first time

and it was now

These days of summer

when I was young,

are now over and gone

Autumn fast approaches

and then Winter

life is golden

The sun still bright

in the olden

days of summer

In my younger days

I believed in springs

and golden summers

The snow now lies

on the ground

frozen as my youth

Love the way this verse dances! No "old talk" allowed until you are at least 90 years on the planet, CJ! Well done.

We are as old as we think in our mind , Dale...
Nicely put together , in a thought provoking theme

Dale this is a wonderful progression of thought
that ends with golden wisdom that the white snows
bring;-) Enjoy! You've got a looooong way to go;-)

Dale, an extremely well-penned thought-provoking write illustrating the wonders of aging with wisdom, dignity and grace while realizing that age is only a number, something which we can never avoid except through denial. Heck, next year I’ll be 20…lol. Yet Poet, this is a timeless creation my friend. Thank you for sharing it. Take care and be well.
