Sometimes the sight and smell of a moment can really take one back...

A Surprise of Aspens

Among
cedars
maples
alders
and the occasional fir
a sudden aspen cluster
surprises

A burst of sun
a waft of autumn zephyr
awaken a splash of gold
among aspens
a flash of memories

Flaxen leaves fall
against the backdrop of cerulean skies
and bring forth past perfume
and thoughts

A whisper on the wind
and I can scarcely breathe

As I gaze upon this beautiful picture and read these words so profoundly written I am reminded of God's wonderful creations, which sometimes we take for granted. Vow! Regis you have done it again, and you know what this poem will be around for generations to come. God bless you, and keep on writing!
