Jack's request .....

..... and his Nanna's response.

JACK

I once knew the man in the moon
Who ate jellybeans and cake at high noon,
And not caring a whit
He ate with his fingers instead of a spoon.

But, what fantabulous fun we had
When on his back we rode through the night
Jumping over moonbeams and stars, laughing and singing
Making our hearts soooooo very glad.

All night we played, flying over houses and trees
Giggling with fairies, making up stories, even
Watching Gnomes and Elves make mischief
Because in the dark nobody sees.

Such friends were we I never asked why (me)
Even when Mrs. Witch on her broom (Scaring Mr. Owl) flew by.
I thought all boys and girls once asleep
Went up into the sky.

In the morning when I awoke
Full of wonder and joy - In my ribs did I poke
Was real my adventure, full of magic and special.
So I must, I must, this secret to keep
Then later when it's dark and I shut my eyes

Back on the window sill Mr. Moon will leap!!
