I know how it feels
To lose a dad.
And how that loss
Can hurt so bad.

I know so well
The pain you feel.
And I know the time
It takes to heal.

I know the tears
And how they flow.
I know it is hard
To let him go.

I know the emptiness
That follows his passing.
And I know the saddness
That seems everlasting.

I know it gets easier
With the passing of time.
He is in your heart
You will be just fine.

I know all of this
I have been there myself.
I wrote you these words,
I hope it will help.

This one I wrote for some long-time family friends, unfortunately, it wasn't the last time it was used.
