You can put me in a prison cell but you can't stop me from dreaming.

Through the magnificent hotel window
I watched a marvellous tourist setting
I saw the moon playing flute and guitar
I saw a happy sea dancing for the tune
I saw the wind beating Carribean drums
I saw palm trees shaking their bodies
I saw the birds singing beautiful songs
I saw butterflies enjoying the melody
I saw a smile fitting on the sun's face
I saw flowers bursting with laughter
Then I saw myself becoming two persons
Each one of me swimming in a blue lake
They were the eyes of my sweet-heart
What a surprise! What a surprise!
I jumped on my knees to hug her
I tightly pressed her body upon mine
But when I opened my eyes I saw horror
I thought I was on holiday in Jamaica
But I was still in my small prison cell
What I squeezed on my chest was not Jane
It was my little stincking red pillow
And my bed sheet? Oh I had to clean it
It was a dream. Just a prisoner's dream
I had a hateful midnight spill.

Abdi-Noor This reminded me of the saying" Two men looked out the prison window, one saw stars, the other saw bars!"
I'm so glad you saw beauty in your surrounding. You can
always overcome the ugliness with beautiful thoughts! Wonderful poem!

A vivid dream. Nicely done...

Don't you just hate when that happens? A very good write, Abdi-Noor.
Take care,
