So Who Rules England?
by Reginald Stanley Birch

Saturday, November 06, 2004
Rated "G" by the Author.

Can we honestly say the English?

The Scots rule Scotland
They have their own parliament
The Welsh rule Wales
They have sort of an assembly
The Irish rule Ireland
Though be it in two parts

So who rules England?
Surely that should be the English
So why is the Prime Minister Scottish?
Same as a good many of his cabinet
Scotland, Ireland and Wales
Supply 117 members of parliament

They are proudly calling this democracy
That is by ones with something to lose
The English are growing weary
Things will have to change
Time to rid 117 over paid members
The saving of millions would please

Subsequently showing to all
Some steps towards democracy
Started to evolve at last
Surely one cannot argue
Sense to all it will make
Seeing the English rule England.

The sovereignty of England
Thankfully in the hands of the English
There rightly it must stay
Time for a constitution
This must never happen again
This rule of England by our neighbours

So wake up all you English
See what can be done
Save old England’s honour
Something must be done
Stay with the righteous battle
Sense will eventually come.

"There is a forgotten, nay almost forbidden word, which means more to me than any other. That word is England".

What is the function of the Scottish Parliament and the Welsh Assembly? Does Parliament still rule on national issues that affect the Scottish and the Welsh? It does, doesn't it? Perhaps the issue was explained to me wrong, or I simply misunderstood.

For Lady A,
Anita, please do not think this is anything to do with where anyone was born, all citizens who live in a country should be able to vote no matter where they were born.
A few years ago Scotland got there own parliament, where residents of Scotland stood for election to run. Wales the same but called it an Assembly.
But both still sent elected members to the parliament in London, so they can vote on English matters. But the elected members elected in England cannot vote in Scottish or Welsh parliaments, that is why I think it is so unjust. I believe we need an English parliament. Hope this gives you an idea for my view.

I know nothing of this.........
but the first question that comes to mind.......
re these foreign parliment members.......
are they english born.........on the soil i mean......
or where they born in other countries..........

how long have they lived in england
are they english citizens......
what areas do they represent etc

see to an american......we are so diverse, we make allowences......and are very accepting........
The Terminator is a US governer lol........I think thats a riot!
but thats just us.......

now I woudln't want somene who does not have the American best interest at heart to be in government, but if he loved this country, and its peoples with a pure intent.......thats something to be considered........
to me.......blood is not that important.......
its the intellect, love and agenda!
lol......ok off my soap box........
I guess I have no reason to speculate here, since we are a melting pot....and I don't see this from the perspective you experience...

But I can say this much........yrs ago I went backpacking thru Europe, and went to Spain, to the village my family is from.......it was so bizarre and stangly comforting to see so many people who looked just like me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My family owned the mountain it seemed!!! LOL...my cousin was even mayor!!!
But my point is.......I have always looked different from the people I have lived around......blondes etc......with me being latin......and being around people who were the same mold as me.....blew me away! lol........
oh I am so off here on subject, huh? delete this if you want my friend.............
I owe u an email..........will get to it soon..........

The one who was caught napping? What a hoohaa over nothing, surely she can nod off in peace, you'd think so, but NO, media meal as usual.

I hope as you do, but will it? That is the question.
