Fallen Angel

I have seen the world
It’s nothing much
Just lies and corruption
And life and death
I’ve seen it all before
In every other place I’ve been

It’s an empty place
Between Heaven and Hell
A purgatory when you’re alive
Or what you think is alive
Life nothing more than a sham
And death a sweet release from it all

Nothing but a Fallen Angel
Observing nothing but pain
And the torture of their mediocre lives
With the mortals of the planet
Striving for those lives
That they can never have

I have seen what there is to offer
And it’s nothing more than before
Offering nothing but sex and drugs
Everything that mortals love
Everything that makes me sick

It’s an empty existence
There is no point to live
There is no point to die
There is only the ghost
Of the happiness there was
And the fulfillment long gone

Nothing but a Fallen Angel
Observing nothing but pain
And the torture of their mediocre lives
With the mortals of the planet
Striving for those lives
That they can never have

No shining star amidst the ruin
No sign of the sweet salvation
Nothing can save the souls
Of the eternally damned

Nothing but a Fallen Angel
Nothing but a Fallen Angel...
