For my yellow rose in winter, my beautiful genius, muse of my every song

Transcendental Sonnet #1155:
A Yellow Rose in Winter

for Silke

A yellow rose in winter
Souvenir of summer sun
Amidst the ice a splinter
Unending as unbegun
Of hope which smiles in greeting
Forgotten but never gone

Gone but never forgotten
Invincibly defeating
Winter dusk as summer dawn
Eternally begotten
Blooming ever always new
Rose unfrozen in the snow

My sweet love I think you know
That this rose belongs to you
