Afire In The Night

I lay awake this night, I pray
my heart learn to be still
‘neath the flowing and passionate
emotion of spirit’s true desire -
This fire, set alight so very long go;
embers now flare and flames
burn bright through the
dark night of the soul.
You were whole the day he created you;
complete and full in His sight.
You now seem to question
this simple truth...
It lives so deep inside of you.
A new world and a new day
await you on the other side
of your broken heart,
just a little beyond your pain -
And you trust as your love
grows afire in the night;
it’s warmth and it’s light
guide your way.
