On the isle of Viti Levu We were welcomed by the tribe To share their humble offerings Beneath a Christmas sky
They sang songs of adulation So beautiful and clear Their voices touched me deep inside so simple and so pure
We strolled through the village ’till the feast had been prepared In a hut on woven mats the offerings were shared
I was seated with the elders The chief was at my side She amongst the women Children showered her with smiles
We passed 'round the Yangona bowl ’till we could drink no more Then bid farewell to our gracious hosts And walked back to our bure…
…along the moonlit shore

| It is amazing how those who have so little can share so much. A wanderful holiday theme. |
