The morning is cold
My bed is warm
The bedroom chilled
Feet hit the warmth of the rug.

Lumbered heavily footed
Into the icy cold
Marbled tile floor
Walls of the bathroom
Retain the chill, in the air.

Brrrrr! Sake the chill
Off my shoulders
Preheat the shower
To waters running hot
As I can stand
It enshrouds me
In the blest warmth.

I closed my eyes in ecstasy
While the hot water
Cascades all over me.
Feels like a child, still in the womb
flowing in the infinite
Warm liquids of life.

Gyrating my head round and round
Water massaging my neck
Eyes, still closed.
From my chest
The warm cascading continues
Passed the blessed.

Warm, soaked, still dripping
Just hanging around
Free from periodic
tumultuous incarceration
The feelings are utopian
Serene as that, heavenly womb
Time to soap.

Um, I almost said something terribly naughty, but then I remembered site rules and regulations. My inner nature stifled, I'll simply comment, lovely, William.

nothing lika nice hot shower Wiliam. you captured it very well here poetically. Yes you're right, when I was on the street seems like more people got hurt during the holidays than any other time also. G

Well I must say you convinced me to go and shower earlier. My favorite pooch likes to poke his head into the water but then he is a goofy lab that likes water anyway.

Is this the adult version of the movie - Free Willy?!

PS It's 20 Below with the Wind Chill here this morning - I need a very hot shower.

William, There is nothing as refreshing as a first thing in the morning shower...unless it's a shared first thing in the morning shower!

Just don't bend over for the soap...and you think its cold there, you ought to live in a motorhome with little to NO insulation in the walls and especially the floors...THAT IS COLD!! ed

Check the spelling of the second word in the first line. This is a good write. Made me miserably cold, though.

Freedom's a valuable thing William...'cause you don't have to worry if you drop the soap :)

Merry Christmas and be well.
